…to be a body?

I wrote a whole record of songs based on that question.^

As always, I embarked on the project at an overly ambitious time (finishing undergrad and starting grad school) and most of the songs never made it past demo stage. And I don’t know if any of the other songs will ever see the light of day, but this one has stuck with me and I felt like I couldn’t not finish it.

Originally it was called panicking.

That was the sensation I was thinking about: how does it feel to be a body (when you are) panicking?

When I re-started the recording process 2 years after I had written the song, a different name felt more appropriate.
