I first heard “Que Sera” when watching Alfred Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much. I was a kid, and don’t remember much about the plot. I do remember, though, that it was the song that Doris Day sang to her son.
I’m thinking about Seth Godin’s idea that, “Reassurance is futile,” and how it ties together with the song. The lyrics of “Que Sera” seem to underline that idea that reassurance is indeed futile, but the song in and of itself is trying to reassure the listener. As if to say, “Yes, the future is unknown but that’s okay.”
Anyway, I recorded a cover of the song. It will be available wherever you listen to music this Friday. You can also pre-save it here, if you want.
