Can people ever really lie?

Can people ever really lie?

In the life of every lie there is the truth. The truth being why they lied. Why they tried to cover something up.

Although the words may not accurately depict reality, they depict a reality– the reality of the person lying. And in that the lie is honest.

This is not a defense of lying, but rather an argument against it. Nothing feels more inevitable to me than the truth. Either it will come out in words or in how you live your life. I think, if the words are difficult or shame-inducing, we often choose the non-choice which is letting it seep into how we live our lives. But, that is far more lonely way to live.

What happens when your body tells one story, but your mind tells a different one?
